What is MPC?

Media Center PC is a Windows, Linux or Mac computer which aside from regular office applications, email, web browsing and gaming allows you to enjoy all your media (such as videos, music, and photos) and TV programming on a big screen of your living room or just on a small laptop screen.

Microsoft currently has two Windows versions that support Media Center features – XP Media Center Edition (or MCE) and also some editions of Windows Vista (such as Home Premium, Ultimate)

Apple has software application (Front Row) as well as hardware (Apple TV) which allows for watching your media acquired from iTunes store.

Some third party companies including motherboard manufacturers release hundreds of alternative applications and devices to bring your media from PC to your living room.
