Discover new music… for FREE

In my iTunes I have a smart playlist called “Never Played Songs”. I usually sync this playlist with iPhone to listen “on the go” or while in the car. At times it (pleasantly or not) surprises me with the kinds of music I have in my collection. And while at home I tend to listen mainly to my favorite albums or Internet radio stations, it’s nice to be able to discover new artists and new music styles on occasion.

The AmazonMP3 siteĀ has been around for a while now, but I just recently found their Special MP3 Deals and Free Music section. It offers a wealth of music at discounted prices (like 50 albums $5 each) as well as tons of free samplers, albumsĀ and singles.

For example, if you are into Jazz do check out the 1959 – Jazz’s Greatest Year, which features compositions from Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck Quartet. While Delicious Vinyl Sampler is a journey to 80’s Rap & Hip-Hop. Borneo is a funny and catchy Alt Rock song by Firewater. And Dust by The Benjy Davis Projectbrings a nice vocal and great lyrics that fans of Jason Mraz and James Blunt would enjoy.

All those albums are offered as free (and as far as I can tell DRM-free) downloads. So, if you are looking to add something fresh to your media library stop by AmazonMP3 and see where it will get you.

P.S. Know of any other places for great free (and preferably legal) music? Please share with us in the Comments below. Thanks.
